Frequently Asked

The Cake at Wellgreens is "Cake She Hits Different" — an Orange County-based, California-licensed, female-founded cannabis brand started in 2020 by Chloe Kaleiokalani (distinct from the hemp-D8 "Cake" brand by AK Futures and from Cake cannabis strains). It's the #1 all-in-one disposable vape in California, with a counter-culture / rave-heritage lifestyle identity.

Wellgreens Pacific Beach carries 11 Cake Products, all 1g all-in-one disposable vapes. The lineup includes Alien Lemonade, Electric Lemonade, Kiwi Burst, Space Cake, the Cryo Live Resin series (Blueberry Z, Maui Wowie, Strawguava, Trainwreck), and three CAKE × RNBW collab Products (Lost In The Mint, Papaya Peach Plur, RNBW Cake OG).

Cake is the #1 California all-in-one vape per Headset and female-founded, which is rare in a category dominated by male-coded brands. It leans into a distinctive hot-pink, rave/festival visual identity and offers a Cryo Mini AiO format plus live-resin disposables.

The all-in-one disposable live-resin vape is the flagship and category leader in California. The Cryo Mini is called out as the hero product in the founder interview.

No traditional Cannabis Cup, Emerald Cup, or High Times product-quality awards are documented. The brand's primary validation signals are being ranked #1 All-in-One Vape in California by Headset and posting 1,091% YoY sales growth from Q1 2023 to Q1 2024 per BDSA.

Trademark / counterfeit landscape (flag): The "Cake" mark has been heavily litigated. *AK Futures LLC v. Boyd Street Distro* (9th Cir. 2022) established trademark protection for AK Futures' hemp-delta-8 "Cake" brand [5][6][7]. CAKE She Hits Different and AK Futures' Cake are distinct entities. The market is flooded with counterfeit "Cake" disposables (primarily on the hemp-D8 / gray-market side). Retailers must verify California DCC license chain and METRC traceability for any "Cake"-branded Product to ensure it is the licensed She Hits Different product and not a counterfeit or hemp-derived item mislabeled for the CA market.
